Partner Description:  National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is the most prestigious and most competitive academic institution for technical education in Greece. The Decision Support Systems Laboratory (DSSLab) is a multidisciplinary scientific unit within the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, which conducts research and development, scientific / technical support and training activities addressing a wide range of complex research and application problems. Operating for more than 25 years, the lab has acquired international experience in the following sectors: Information Technology and Decision Support Systems with a specialization in ICT Research, e-Business and e-Government, Interoperability, Management Information Systems, Program & Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Training and Human Resources Development, Information Dissemination and Promotion, Energy and Environmental Policy.

Role in the Project: NTUA coordinates the FutureEnterprise activities, leads the roadmapping activities and is responsible for bringing together the perspectives of enterprises and entrepreneurs under a community with a shared vision, while also heavily contributing to all activities.

Partner Description: Among UK universities, Warwick is a unique, and uniquely successful, institution. Warwick is now one of the UK's leading universities, with an acknowledged reputation for excellence in research and teaching, for innovation and for links with business and industry. In the last government Research Assessment Exercise, Warwick hosts a range of institutes and projects of direct and particular relevance to FutureEnterprise. The ground-breaking Warwick “Centre for Complexity Science” ( was established to connect and develop interdisciplinary research in complexity science at all levels, train a new generation of complexity scientists via a doctoral training centre (DTC), understand, control and design complex systems, produce break-throughs in the principles and applications of complexity science, link with end-users as sources of real-world problems and beneficiaries from the resulting knowledge and trainees, and sustain a lively intellectual and practically based environment for complexity science. Warwick is the base for a £50M Digital Lab (, a multi-disciplinary research centre combining the expertise of the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) with world-class research in underpinning sciences including psychology, medicine, computer science and mathematics. In addition to its own research, it hosts businesses wishing to engage in hi-tech R&D and graduate education in association with the WMG’s degree programmes, who are encouraged to come and discover the potential for cost-effective research at the Lab. The Warwick Institute of Advanced Study ( (IAS) is designed to promote collaborative research projects of international calibre and profile Previous IAS initiatives have developed a range of multidisciplinary projects connecting life sciences, social sciences and natural sciences particularly in relation to complex and adaptive ‘cybernetic’ systems.

Role in the Project: University of Warwick will lead the Policy activities, as well as the Roadmap Adoption and Take-up and synergies with other Future Internet initiatives.



Partner Description:  INTRASOFT International SA (LU), is a leading European, ISO 9001-certified company in the area of Information Technology and Communication services provision company, member of INTRACOM HOLDIGS Group that employees some 6,200 people in 21 countries around the world. At the end of 2011, INTRASOFT International employed over 800 professionals working in Belgium, Luxembourg, Athens-Greece and Romania, 20% of which have postgraduate degrees, representing 17 different nationalities, mastering more than 15 languages and executing over 100 projects around the globe. INTRASOFT International has an extensive expertise in the Innovation-RTD policy information management, processing and dissemination services, management of multiplex and complex information-related networks, studies as well as large contracts. 

Role in the Project: INTRASOFT leads the activities for the Supportive Systems Advancements and is responsible for the enterprises motivation activities.


Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), College of Management of Technology (SWITZERLAND)

Partner Description:  EPFL ( is one of the two Ecoles Polytechniques fédérales in Switzerland. Like its sister institution, ETHZ, it has three missions: education, research and technology transfer at the highest international level. Associated with several specialised research institutes, the two EPFs form the EPF domain, which is directly dependent on the Federal Department of Home Affairs. EPFL offers 13 complete study programs at the Bachelor's and Master's levels in engineering, basic sciences, computer and communication sciences, life sciences, civil engineering, architecture / environment, and management of technology. The Management of Technology has been an important effort within EPFL over the last several years, and it has come to fruition in the form of the new College of Management of Technology (CDM), which was launched in October 2004. Within the CDM, the Chair in Corporate Strategy & Innovation was one of the first Chairs established.

Role in the Project: EPFL leads the activities twards the empowerment of new forms of Enterprise and plays a supporting role in all work packages.


European Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs (YES) (BELGIUM)

Partner Description:  YES – European Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs is the major association of young entrepreneurs throughout Europe representing 40.000 members and aiming to support and improve the economic and social performance of young entrepreneurship in Europe. As such, it is the largest dynamic network of entrepreneurs, which constantly expands its activities. It aims at improving the economic and social performance of young entrepreneurship in Europe. Its members include the major national associations of young entrepreneurs in the field of industry, trade and services from 18 countries: Albania, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, The Netherlands, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

Role in the Project: YES represents the youth entrepreneurship voice in FutureEnterprise, leading the Web Entrepreneurs Motivation Activities and the Policy Recommendations for Web Entrepreneurs.
